Steven West

Steven McDonald, Chief Executive Officer of the House of West, is a senior leader with seven progressive years of ballroom leadership and a member of the executive board since 2019. In his role as CEO, he works closely with the Founders to develop the House’s strategic vision and direction, and leads the implementation of that vision in collaboration with the King Father, Queen Mother, and C-Suite executives. He is responsible for managing the executive board by establishing and monitoring quarterly and annual work plans, conducting mid-year and annual evaluations, and ensuring leadership alignment with both short- and long-term organizational goals. 

A public health operations professional, Steven brings expertise across government, community, and clinical sectors, with a focus on strategic planning, cross-sector collaboration, and optimizing service delivery to address HIV/STIs, intimate partner violence, and health inequities among LGBTQIA+ communities. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Syracuse University and a Master of Science in Health Science from Towson University. Committed to accountability and structure, he facilitates executive meetings, monitors progress toward organizational goals, and works alongside the Founders to uphold House values and ensure consistent, high-level performance across all areas of leadership.
